Dianomi Advertising Guidelines
Dianomi works exclusively with premium publishers who hold us to high standards. To maintain quality, all advertising campaigns are subject to manual review and approval.
All ads running through Dianomi must meet the following standards. Ads must be accurate, professional, appropriate for the intended audience, and link to relevant, legitimate content.
Campaign Approval Process
All campaigns must be manually approved by Dianomi. This begins once you click “Save and send for approval.”
- If submitted during UK, US, or Australian business hours, campaigns are typically approved within 12 hours.
- Please allow up to 1-3 business days for review if submitted outside of these hours, or during weekends and holidays.
- Certain investment types or other sensitive categories may require longer review times.
Dianomi reserves the right to reject or remove any advertisement at our sole discretion.
Not Permitted
Ads must not contain, promote, or link to:
- Alcohol
- Tobacco or nicotine products
- Guns or weapons
- Illegal substances
- Nudity
- Pornography
- Adult-oriented or sexually explicit content
- Inappropriate, offensive, or vulgar language
- Racism, hate speech, or discriminatory content
- Gambling or real-money betting
- Pyramid schemes
- Fraudulent or deceptive investment opportunities
- Binary options trading
- Initial Coin Offerings (ICOs)
- Libellous or defamatory content
- Content that infringes intellectual property or other third-party rights
- Misleading, deceptive, or false claims
- Deliberately negative publicity or personal attacks
- Misleading medical or health claims
- Securities or investment promotions that do not meet Dianomi's Investor Relations / Stock Recommendation requirements
Ad Quality & Presentation
All ads must:
- Be clear, professional, and of good quality.
- Use images that are clear and not blurry, distorted, pixelated, or difficult to understand.
- Use correct grammar, spelling, punctuation, and capitalisation.
- Use symbols, numbers, and special characters appropriately.
- Clearly represent the product, service, company, or content being advertised.
- Avoid misleading headlines, exaggerated claims, or clickbait.
- Avoid excessive or visually stressful flashing, blinking, or animation.
Formatting Restrictions
Ad text must not use:
- ALL CAPS
- Emojis
- Exclamation marks
Landing Pages
All ads must link to a relevant and legitimate landing page.
Landing pages must:
- Be directly relevant to the ad.
- Not redirect users to unrelated content, jump pages, or pages consisting mainly of related links.
- Clearly identify the advertiser or company responsible for the content.
- Not contain harmful, misleading, fraudulent, or inappropriate content.
- Clearly explain any offer, product, or service being promoted.
- Display any disclaimers, licences, regulatory information, or other disclosures required by law.
Pricing & Promotional Claims
- Prices, discounts, offers, and promotional claims must be accurate.
- Ads must not misrepresent the true price or nature of an offer.
- Any conditions or important limitations relating to an offer must be clearly communicated.
- Ratings, awards, rankings, or similar claims must be accurate and supportable.
- Ads must not make unrealistic or misleading claims about financial returns or other results.
Privacy & Data Collection
Ads and landing pages must respect user privacy and comply with applicable privacy and data protection laws.
If an ad collects personal information:
- The advertiser collecting the information must be clearly identified.
- Users must be told that their information is being collected.
- A clear link to the relevant privacy policy must be provided.
- Personal information must not be collected or used without appropriate consent.
- Any data collection within an ad must meet the requirements of the publisher or platform on which the ad appears.
Intellectual Property & Brand Usage
- Advertisers must have the necessary rights or permissions to use logos, trademarks, images, videos, artwork, audio, celebrities, or other third-party intellectual property.
- Ads must not imply an endorsement, partnership, or relationship that does not exist.
- Publisher names, logos, branding, or interfaces must not be copied or imitated without permission.
Image Usage Restrictions
To maintain brand integrity and compliance standards, the following image types must not be used:
- Currency or banknote imagery – including any form of bill, note, or low-quality depiction of money.
- AI-generated imagery – any image created or modified using artificial intelligence tools.
Audio & Video
Where audio or video advertising is permitted:
- Audio should normally be initiated by the user unless the publisher specifically permits otherwise.
- Audio and video must be appropriate for the intended audience.
- Content must not contain inappropriate sexual material, profanity, vulgarity, excessive violence, or other prohibited material.
Play Buttons
Ads featuring play buttons in the hero image are not allowed on Apple News publishers.
Marijuana
Marijuana-related advertising is permitted only subject to the following:
- General marijuana ads must use the Marijuana Investing product type.
- Marijuana ETF ads must use the Marijuana ETF product type.
- Creative must be professional and of good quality.
- Creative must not contain marijuana leaf imagery.
- Creative must not contain spammy, sensational, or misleading copy.
- Publisher restrictions may apply, and some publishers do not accept marijuana advertising.
Cryptocurrency
Cryptocurrency advertising is permitted only subject to the following:
- The advertiser must be appropriately regulated where required.
- The advertiser must comply with applicable financial regulations in the markets being targeted.
- Ads must not contain misleading claims or promises of guaranteed or unrealistic returns.
- ICO advertising is not permitted.
- Publisher restrictions may apply, and some publishers do not accept cryptocurrency advertising.
Crypto-related ads are only accepted from companies regulated by a financial authority in a major jurisdiction.
Financial Products & Services
Financial advertising must be accurate, responsible, and compliant with all applicable laws and regulations.
- Companies offering regulated financial services must hold the appropriate regulatory permissions.
- Financial advertising associated with deceptive or fraudulent practices is not permitted.
- Ads must not promise guaranteed, excessive, or unrealistic financial returns.
- Any required risk warnings, disclaimers, licences, or regulatory information must be clearly displayed.
- Some publishers may prohibit particular financial products even where they would otherwise meet Dianomi's standards.
Australia
Any financial services advertiser doing business in Australia must:
- Hold the appropriate Australian Financial Services Licence (AFSL), where required.
- Clearly display the applicable licence information on the landing page.
Singapore
Any financial services advertiser doing business in Singapore must:
- Be appropriately authorised where required.
- Appear on the Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS) Financial Institutions Directory where applicable.
Other Markets
- Advertisers must comply with the financial advertising and licensing requirements applicable to every country or region they target.
- Additional publisher-specific restrictions may apply.
Investor Relations / Stock Recommendations
Investor Relations and stock-related advertising must meet all applicable Dianomi requirements.
- A company offering financial services must be appropriately regulated.
- The promoted company's stock must have been publicly listed for more than 12 months.
- The company must have annual revenues of more than $10 million.
- The company must have a market capitalisation of more than $30 million.
- The company's share price must be above $1.
- Shares must be listed on a regulated stock exchange in a G20 economy.
- OTCQB, Pink Sheets, and NASDAQ Capital Market are not approved exchanges for this purpose.
- The company, its stock, and its directors must have a good reputation.
- There must be no credible allegations of wrongdoing, scams, or fraud that make the promotion unsuitable.
- There must be no relevant current regulatory investigations or convictions that make the promotion unsuitable.
- Advertorial landing pages must contain all legally required disclaimers and disclosures.
- Content must not promise large, guaranteed, or unrealistic investment returns.
Important: Some publishers, including Apple News, may have stricter rules regarding securities advertising. Meeting Dianomi's general requirements does not guarantee that an ad will be eligible to run with every publisher.
Pharmaceuticals, Medical Products & Services
Where pharmaceutical, medical device, medical service, or treatment advertising is accepted:
- Advertising must comply with all applicable laws and regulations.
- Products and services must have any licences, approvals, or authorisations required in the markets being targeted.
- Ads must not contain misleading medical or health claims.
- Additional restrictions may apply to cross-border advertising.
- Publisher-specific restrictions may apply.
Sensitive & Controversial Content
Ads relating to controversial public issues or sensitive topics may require additional review.
Ads must not:
- Contain personal attacks.
- Promote hate or discrimination.
- Contain unnecessarily graphic or offensive material.
- Misrepresent individuals, organisations, or events.
- Make defamatory or libellous claims.
Political, public-issue, and other sensitive advertising may also be restricted by individual publishers.
Publisher-Specific Restrictions
Individual Dianomi publishers may have stricter advertising policies than Dianomi's general standards.
For example, publishers may restrict or prohibit:
- Marijuana
- Cryptocurrency
- Securities and stock promotions
- Political or politically biased content
- Controversial public issues
- Pharmaceuticals or healthcare products
- Other sensitive categories
Some publishers may also specifically restrict categories such as Contracts for Difference (CFDs).
Approval under Dianomi's general standards does not guarantee approval by every publisher.
Advertisers should speak to their Dianomi account manager to confirm publisher-specific requirements before a campaign is launched.
