When running Display ads in MyDianomi and using Google Campaign Manager (formerly DCM) code, click attributes will need to be added so that MyDianomi can count the number of clicks your campaign has received and for these to show in your analytics.
If you add the code without the relevant click attributes, a warning will be displayed “DCM tag is missing the required data attribute data-dcm-click-tracker” and a button will be displayed “ADD DCM ATTRIBUTES”:

Making sure the right value is set for the DCM Landing Page Escape Macro:
The dcm-landing-page-escapes macro is added to the tag to ensure that the destination URL is set up correctly. This is critical for two reasons:
-
The tag’s destination URL must be properly configured.
-
Accurate configuration ensures that tracking works as expected.
Default Setting & Adjustment
-
By default, the value of this macro is set to
2. -
You can adjust this using the “DCM Tag Escape Count” field:
-
Increase or Descrease the value if the URL preview shows unwanted escaped characters, does not include all macros of the url or does not link through to the expected landing page.
-
Testing the Configuration
-
Set the Escape Count: Enter your desired value in the “DCM Tag Escape Count” field.
-
Preview the Tag: Use the preview function (to the right of the setup area).
-
Check the URL Preview Page:
-
Confirm that the destination URL includes all required UTM parameters.
-
Ensure that the URL does not contain escaped characters (e.g.,
%20,%2F).
-
-
Click the URL:
-
Verify that it redirects to the correct destination page.
-
Confirm the page loads properly with all UTM tracking intact.
-
Troubleshooting & Iteration
-
If the URL contains escaped characters or the click does not reach the correct destination:
-
Adjust the “DCM Tag Escape Count” value up or down.
-
Re-run the preview and repeat the test.
-
-
Continue this process until:
-
The URL looks clean (UTMs included, no unwanted encoding).
-
The click-through works as expected.
-
If you would like any advice on this or have any questions please ask your Account Manager.
