All ads should be tracked so that you can view Dianomi’s users separately from other traffic sources in your analytics platform. We recommend doing this, as we are confident in the quality of our users.
While you can view campaign performance with MyDianomi, we also recommend that clients implement their own tracking - such as Google Analytics. This allows you to see how your campaign is performing within the context of your overall analytics setup, and ensures that actions and conversions are attributed to the correct sources.
If you already use Google Analytics across your website, you can create tracked URLs using the Google Analytics Campaign URL Builder [an external link].
The Campaign URL Builder will guide you through the necessary fields to identify your campaign within GA, and generate a tracking tag to append to your original landing page URL. Once created, you can pass this URL to your account manager or insert it directly into your campaign. When your campaign goes live, you'll start seeing activity in your GA reports. We also recommend setting up Goals in GA if you want to track specific actions.
For example:
Original URL:
Tagged with UTM parameters:
https://www.marketviews.com/?utm_source=dianomi&utm_medium=cpc&utm_campaign=acquisition&utm_content=native&utm_term=:pub_name
This will pass the following data into Google Analytics:
- Source = dianomi
- Medium = cpc
- Campaign = acquisition
- Content = native
- Term = publisher name (we'll automatically replace :pub_name with the actual publisher name, e.g., Reuters or WSJ)
