IMPORTANT – Image conversion pixel will under-report conversions due to cookie restrictions. The conversion pixel may only work for a limited time or not at all on browsers that limit the use of cookies. These include all Safari, Firefox, a % of Chrome users and ALL browsers on Apple iOS devices. This issue is expected to grow (for our entire industry) as Apple and others impose further restrictions. Dianomi supports Server 2 Server tracking which is more robust and does not rely on cookies, if you wish to make use of this technology please contact your Account Manager.

Before You Start: CMP Requirements and Compliance.
Before implementing your image conversion pixel, you must:
Ensure that you have a data protection agreement in place with Dianomi.
Add Dianomi as a vendor within your Consent Management Platform (CMP) in the Marketing, Advertising or similar section and/or disclose Dianomi as a vendor in your privacy policy.
Dianomi supports industry standard consent signals such as the IAB TCF/GPP consent platforms as well as custom consent CMP signals such as OnetrustActiveGroups. You can streamline privacy compliance by placing our pixels wrapped in a JavaScript Dianomi Tag which will be able to read user choices automatically, otherwise you are also able to pass consent strings to the Conversion pixel via a Macro or manage the loading of the Conversion pixel within your CMP logic if your CMP is not TCF/GPP enabled. In any case Dianomi should be listed as a Marketing/Ad Personalisation third party vendor.
Ensure the pixel’s placement complies with your CMP’s consent settings
This ensures you have user consent for marketing purposes.
How to create and deploy an Image Conversion Pixel?
To create your conversion pixel a conversion pixel go to Conversion Tracking under the Account section of your account.
Step 1. Create New Tracker – Click the Create New Tracker button in the top left corner and then add a tracker name and if the tracker is part of a funnel set the Conversion Step field.
Step 2. Retreive Image Conversion Pixel – Find the pixel you created in the Tracker table below and open the Implement Tracker options menu on the right column. Select the Image Conversion Pixel option from the menu where you can find and copy the image conversion pixel html code.
Step 3. Placing the Image Conversion Pixel on your Site – The pixel needs to be placed in the <body> of your confirmation / thank you page so that it is only displayed when the conversion action (eg signing up for a newsletter) has been completed. The pixel can also be placed by Google Tag Manager (GTM) as a Custom HTML tag and can be set to be triggered on your desired conversion goal this can be set on page view of a confirmation/thank you page, click on a submit button, scrolling of a page or amount of time spend on a page.
DO NOT place the pixel on the landing page or you will see a 100% conversion rate.
Does the pixel need to be on a dedicated landing page for Dianomi?
We do not need dedicated landing pages – our platform will only use the pixel to measure users that have been sent directly from Dianomi. We are often on the same page as pixels from other platforms.
Can I call the pixel after a user action, like clicking a button?
Yes, but you must ensure that the pixel is actually displayed or a conversion will not be recorded.
Can I track users as they move along our funnel to conversion?
Yes, you can set up multiple tags to track different types of conversions on your website, such as page views, downloads, sign-ups, purchases, and more.
To track each step in a conversion funnel, you can create a tag for each step by assigning a step number (like ‘1’, ‘2’, ‘3’) in the conversion tag manager. You can then view the results for each step in your analytics under the stat called ‘Actions by Ad Variant with Conversion Steps’. If you don’t have this stat available to you please contact your account manager or email help@dianomi.com for assistance.
Google Tag Manager (GTM)
If you are using Google Tag Manager (GTM) then place the full <img> tag in a ‘Custom HTML’ field OR use the URL only ( https://www.dianomi.com/pixeltrack.pl?t=XXXX ) as a ‘Custom image tag’ and have the GTM cachebuster enabled.
