Please note: This guide applies to the new Analytics Reporting interface, released in September 2026. If you do not yet have access to the latest interface, please contact help@dianomi.com or speak to your account manager.
If you manage Child Accounts under an overarching Parent Account, you can control which Analytics reporting columns and Default Report Templates are available to users of each Child Account.
This allows you to tailor the reporting experience for individual Child Accounts. For example, you can provide access to all available reporting data or limit an account to only the dimensions, metrics, and report templates that are relevant to them.
Reporting access is managed separately for each Child Account, giving you control over what users of each account can see and use within Analytics.
Who can manage Child Account reporting access?
To manage reporting access for a Child Account, you must be an Admin user of the Parent Account.
You can check your user access by navigating to the Users section of the Parent Account.
If you are not an Admin or are unsure about your permissions, please contact another Admin for your account, your account manager, or help@dianomi.com.
Managing reporting access for a Child Account
To configure which reporting columns and Default Report Templates a Child Account can access, follow the steps below.
Step 1: Open the Child Accounts section
Make sure you are viewing the relevant Parent Account.
Open the Account dropdown and select Child Accounts.
The Child Accounts page will display a list of the accounts managed under the current Parent Account.
Find the Child Account whose reporting access you want to configure.
Step 2: Open Column Access
For the relevant Child Account, click Column Access.
This will take you to the Column Access page, where you can control which reporting columns are available to that account.
These settings determine the data that users of the Child Account can access when using Analytics. If any columns are not made available for an account then these columns will not appear in any new or previously set up reports on the account.
Step 3: Select the reporting columns the account can access
On the Column Access page, select the reporting columns you want to make available to the Child Account.
You can configure access in several ways:
- Select All ā Give the Child Account access to every available reporting column.
- Select a section ā Give access to a particular group of related reporting columns.
- Select individual columns ā Choose specific columns when you want more precise control over the data available to the account.
This allows you to make reporting access as broad or as specific as required for each Child Account.
Review your selections carefully and, when you are happy with the configuration, click Apply Changes to save the new column access settings.
Step 4: Assign Default Report Templates
In addition to controlling individual reporting columns, you can choose which Default Report Templates are available to the Child Account.
From the Column Access page, select the Report Templates tab at the top of the page.
You will see a list of the Default Report Templates that are available to assign.
You can either:
- Select all available Report Templates.
- Select only the individual Report Templates you want the Child Account to access.
Once you have made your selection, click Assign Selected.
The selected Report Templates will then be assigned to the Child Account and made available to its users within Analytics.
Step 5: Review or remove assigned Report Templates
You can also use the Report Templates tab to review the reports that have already been assigned to the Child Account.
Scroll down the page to see the currently assigned Report Templates.
If a Child Account no longer requires access to a particular report, select the relevant report or reports and use the Unassign option to remove access.
This means you can update the available Default Reports whenever the Child Account's reporting requirements change.
Updating reporting access in the future
Once you have completed the steps above, the Child Account's reporting access is configured.
Users of that account will have access to the reporting columns and Default Report Templates you have assigned to them.
You can return to the Child Accounts section of the Parent Account at any time to update these settings. For example, you may want to:
- Add access to additional reporting columns.
- Remove access to columns that are no longer required.
- Assign new Default Report Templates.
- Remove previously assigned Report Templates.
- Review the reporting access currently configured for an individual Child Account.
Any changes can be managed separately for each Child Account, allowing you to maintain the appropriate level of Analytics access across the accounts you manage.
